Why Itero Desk

Built for the desk that has to get the price right, not the desk that has to look busy.

Itero Desk is operations software for safari and tour operators: itineraries, quotes, proposals, invoices, CRM and pricing in one workspace, on web and mobile, with AI assistance built in. It exists because pricing a safari correctly, from your own rates, in minutes instead of a day of re-typing PDFs, is the actual job. Everything below is true of the product today, not a roadmap.

Any lodge, no catalogue to join first

Most itinerary and booking platforms work through a shared supplier network: the lodges and camps already loaded into that platform's own catalogue. That is genuinely useful when the property you need is already in it. It is a wall when it is not.

Itero Desk carries no such catalogue, and needs none. Any accommodation can be added to your library in one short form, no rate required, so a reservation request can go out to a lodge you have never used before the same day you add it. The hotel request itself goes out as a clean document with the trip facts and no prices, sent by email; there is no live availability check or instant confirmation anywhere in this flow; you record the outcome yourself once the lodge replies. That is a real trade-off, not a shortcut: no network means no waiting on a partner integration to cover a property, but it also means confirmation stays a human conversation with the lodge, same as it would be over email or phone without Itero Desk. What changes is the seconds it takes to get a professional request out, not the days it takes the lodge to answer.

Priced from your own rates, not a database that might be wrong

Every new workspace starts completely empty: no destinations, parks, accommodations, rates or fees pre-loaded, ever. You build the library by hand or by importing your own rate sheets (PDF, Word, Excel) with AI assistance that reads seasonal rates, add-ons and policies and shows you a review screen before anything is saved. That is a deliberate choice: pre-loaded third-party data that might be wrong and never gets corrected by anyone is a worse foundation for a quote than a library only you control.

On top of that library sits a cost engine that understands how park fees actually work in fifteen safari countries: per person or per vehicle, by visitor category and age band, the way each authority (TANAPA, KWS, RDB, SANParks and others) actually charges. Picking your operating country at signup tunes those defaults; it never limits where an itinerary can go. Multi-room parties, child rate bands, per-day meal plans and rate-gap warnings when no rate covers a date are all part of the same engine, so the number a client sees is one you built, not one you are hoping is close enough.

Itero AI drafts, the desk decides

Itero AI reads your leads, itineraries, library, clients, invoices, park fees and flights, and it can draft an itinerary from a briefing, rewrite a day, suggest activities, or turn a rate sheet or a competitor's PDF proposal into structured data ready for review. It never prices from imagination: every number it produces traces back to rates already in your library. It never saves without confirmation: every suggestion is a proposal you accept, edit or reject, not a write that already happened. And it changes what it can do depending on where you are working, the builder, the proposal editor, a lead, so it is never a generic chat window bolted onto the side of the product.

What Itero Desk is not

  • It is software, not a travel agency. It does not sell, book or arrange trips on your behalf.
  • It does not process or hold traveller payments. You collect from clients however you already do.
  • It has no live availability, instant confirmation or inventory sync with any hotel. Reservation requests are documents, and outcomes are recorded by you.
  • It does not ship with any pre-loaded destinations, park fees or rates. You build the library; nothing arrives pre-populated.
  • It is not, today, a multi-currency accounting system. Pricing runs in USD; a separate field lets you record supplier costs in a local currency with a manually entered exchange rate, but there is no automatic FX and no client-facing multi-currency invoicing yet.
